NNormal Kboix 01, NNormal's most innovative shoe, is now available for purchase after community testing period

The NNormal Kboix 01 has been developed in collaboration with 150 community testers whose feedback was pivotal in shaping the final design. One year after the Kboix Experience began, this shoe is now available for pre-order.

NNormal, the sports equipment brand founded by Kilian Jornet and Camper in 2022, will today release 500 pairs of the NNormal Kboix 01, a modular design that represents their most innovative shoe to date.

The Kboix 01 is a multisport shoe featuring three interchangeable midsoles that allow users to optimize it for different adventures. Each midsole is designed for varying terrain, workout intensities, and body types. Upon purchasing NNormal Kboix 01, each customer can choose 2 out of the 3 available midsoles and has the option to buy a third separately, as each is also sold individually.

However, modular construction isn't the only standout feature of the Kboix 01. This shoe was developed through a collaborative process known as the Kboix Experience, which gathered crucial insights from 150 athletes, runners, and outdoor enthusiasts as they tested prototypes of the shoe. One year after this process began Kboix 01 is finally hitting the market in a limited quantity.

The shoe reinvented: the three midsoles of the NNormal Kboix 01

With the launch of the Kboix 01, NNormal aims to provide users with a shoe that not only lasts but also offers the flexibility to adapt to each individual’s needs and the varying terrain or conditions they may encounter. The shoe’s modular design allows its midsole to be swapped in just seconds, so a single shoe can adapt to different types of terrain and outdoor movement.

Kb1 Soft: Run lighter. Run easier. Run supported.

Made from supercritical EVA foam and featuring EExpure technology, this midsole is lighter and more durable than those made with traditional EVA components. This means users will experience less muscle fatigue and more efficient recovery.

Kb2 Reactive: Run fast. Run firm. Run with power.

This midsole thrives on technical terrain or during outings when speed is essential. Made from supercritical TPU foam with a high rebound level, its materials offer power to help propel runners forward with each step. A higher level of reactivity translates into quicker energy return.

Kb3 Bounce: Run with drive. Run with cushioning. Run with bounce.

The Kb3 Bounce is a reactive midsole that also feels soft. Made from supercritical PEBA foam, this option provides the perfect balance between cushion and bounce.

Kboix 01, Winner of the ISPO Award 2024

The NNormal Kboix 01 earned an ISPO award in 2024, a seal of approval that recognizes outstanding innovation among sports products. According to the ISPO jury, “interchangeable midsoles are game-changers in the running shoe industry. This not only expands the shoe’s range of use but also enables its repair. Combined with robust materials and the possibility to re-sole, it is a very well-thought-out concept.”

Kboix 01 is now available for pre-order at NNormal.com. The shoe, sold with two midsoles, is priced at $/€240. Additionally, all Kboix 01 midsoles can be purchased separately for S/€40 each.
